The well-known performance benchmarking software AnTuTu released its lineup of the top 10 mid-range Android smartphones for May 2024, based on their average benchmarking scores. These results give us a glimpse into which devices offer the best performance for the mid-range category.
In the May 2024 list, smartphones that feature the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 chipset were the frontrunners. Notably absent from the top rankings were any phones powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, despite being available before May. This could suggest that either the phones did not meet the required 1,000 valid runs to qualify for the rankings, or they simply did not achieve high enough scores.
The OnePlus Ace 3V achieved impressive benchmarking results, leading the chart with an average score of 1,437,896. Following close behind was the Realme GT Neo6 SE, which also utilizes the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 chip, with an average score of 1,381,173. Introducing variety to the top performers, MediaTek made its entry with the Dimensity 8300 Ultra found in the Redmi K70E, which has also been known to the market as the Poco X6 Pro. This device earned the third spot with a score of 1,374,018.
Furthermore, the remainder of the list was populated with last generation models, implying a lack of new contenders in the mid-range bracket capable of disrupting the existing hierarchy. The attached image showcases the complete ranking of the devices.
When considering the purchase of a mid-range phone, it is crucial to take into account a myriad of factors in addition to the AnTuTu benchmark scores. Prospective buyers should also evaluate other specifications such as the screen quality, battery life, camera system, and user interface experience for a comprehensive decision-making process.
Benchmarks like those from AnTuTu provide valuable insights but are only one aspect to consider. It is important to remember that real-world usage and personal requirements play a vital role in selecting the right smartphone. When it comes to keeping up with the evolving world of technology, staying informed about the latest trends and performance metrics is essential for making an educated decision that aligns with both your needs and budget.
