Google introduced an AI tool allowing users to “try on” clothes by uploading photos. This seemingly innovative idea quickly raised alarms for its potentially invasive nature. Jhake criticized the feature, pointing out its problematic aspects, especially noting Google’s launch announcement by executive Rajan Patel, which awkwardly referenced Sydney Sweeney’s controversial clothing ad.
The ad, already under scrutiny for being hypersexualized, only fueled concerns. Jhake questioned if user-uploaded images were used to train the AI models. Although his comment gained traction, Patel chose silence over engagement.

Instead of addressing these concerns, Patel blocked Jhake, leading to further backlash against Google’s approach to criticism.
