Stunning Glacial Blue Revealed: First Look at the 2025 Model Y Juniper Paint Option

Tesla seems to be enticing its fans with the fresh and captivating Glacial Blue color option for the revamped Model Y Juniper. While this hue is reminiscent of the intricate multi-coat Quicksilver, it introduces a distinctive, lighter blue than any seen before in Tesla’s lineup. This is definitely an exciting revelation for electric car enthusiasts.

However, there’s some speculation over whether the Glacial Blue is a multi-coat paint. Early glimpses of the car in the open under the winter sun in China suggest it might not be, lacking the usual metallic luster and dark undertones found in Tesla’s Giga Berlin-produced Quicksilver and Midnight Cherry Red options. The color seems somewhat subdued, potentially without the shimmering appeal typical of the finer multi-coats.

Interestingly, Tesla is sweetening the deal in Australia by offering all Model Y Juniper colors at no extra cost, including this appealing Glacial Blue. However, the scenario is different in China and other Asia-Pacific markets, where customers must pay a little extra for the new color. Tesla China keeps the Stealth Gray, or “Starry” Gray, as the no-cost option, while the Pearl White multi-coat is priced around $1,100 extra—the same cost for the Glacial Blue.

There are even pricier alternatives such as the Quicksilver and “Flame Red” multi-coats, which come at a 50% higher premium. This pricing strategy highlights that the Glacial Blue may lack the multi-coat’s depth and transformation with changing light angles, making it a more straightforward but undeniably unique choice for those looking to stand out.

Despite the subdued sheen of Glacial Blue, Tesla fans in China have already shown remarkable enthusiasm, with 50,000 units ordered on the very first day of launch. This is particularly impressive given that deliveries aren’t expected until March. It seems that the allure of a fresh color is already taking the market by storm, promising an exciting year ahead for the Model Y.
