Sony’s Next Wireless Over-Ear Headphones Leak: Price and Release Date Revealed

Sony is gearing up for a busy month in audio, with new over-ear headphones rumored to be right around the corner. One of the most talked-about upcoming releases is a gaming-focused model expected to debut mid-April, while another mystery set of premium wireless headphones could follow shortly after with a noticeably higher price tag.

A new leak suggests Sony is preparing to launch the Inzone H6 Air on April 14. The Inzone line is typically aimed at gamers who want immersive sound, strong positional audio, and long-session comfort without having to rely on a wired connection. While full specifications haven’t been confirmed yet, the timing points to Sony expanding its gaming headset lineup again, likely to compete with other popular wireless over-ear options designed for console and PC play.

At the same time, Sony reportedly has additional consumer audio gear on the way under the name “The ColleXion.” Sony trademarked that branding in Canada and Japan nearly a year ago, which initially sparked speculation that it might be tied to the company’s well-known 1000X series of noise-canceling headphones. According to the latest details, however, this product may stand on its own rather than being labeled as part of the 1000X family.

The device is said to be a pair of wireless over-ear headphones sold simply as The ColleXion. It’s also rumored to arrive in a black finish and may be positioned as a collector-style or limited-edition release, which could help explain the premium pricing.

The leak points to a launch price of €629 in Europe. That’s a significant jump compared to Sony’s current top-tier mainstream headphones, and it suggests a possible US price around $639 if Sony follows similar conversion patterns for this category. If accurate, The ColleXion would sit in an ultra-premium segment where buyers expect standout materials, exclusive branding, and high-end audio tuning, not just standard flagship features.

As for timing, The ColleXion is rumored to launch globally on May 19. If both dates hold, Sony will have two distinct headphone pushes in quick succession: one for gamers in April and one for premium everyday listening in May.

For now, these details remain unofficial, but they paint a clear picture of Sony’s near-term strategy: broaden its gaming audio lineup while also testing demand for a high-priced, potentially limited-run wireless over-ear model aimed at collectors and enthusiasts.
