Sony Honda Mobility has revealed a major new twist for in-car entertainment: AFEELA will be the world’s first vehicle to integrate PS Remote Play directly into the cabin experience. Announced in Tokyo on December 18, 2025, the feature brings PlayStation gaming into the vehicle in a way that feels purpose-built, letting drivers and passengers stream games from a PS5 or PS4 at home onto the car’s integrated display.
PS Remote Play is one of the most popular PlayStation applications because it extends your console beyond the living room. In AFEELA, it’s being positioned as a seamless in-vehicle experience through the AFEELA In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) system. That means you can access and control your home console from inside the car and play using the vehicle’s built-in screen paired with a premium audio system. It’s designed for moments like waiting while parked, charging, or simply giving passengers something fun to do during longer trips.
Sony Honda Mobility describes the move as part of AFEELA’s broader goal: turning travel time into something more “captivating and emotional,” not just functional. Izumi Kawanishi, Representative Director, President and COO of Sony Honda Mobility, said the PS Remote Play integration reflects the company’s vision of transforming the traveling space into a new level of entertainment—effectively rethinking what “on the go” can mean when your car is also a connected digital environment.
To use PS Remote Play in AFEELA, you’ll still need the essentials on the home side: a PlayStation 5 or PlayStation 4 console to stream from, plus a strong network connection. Sony Honda Mobility notes that at least 5Mbps broadband is required, and a stable 15Mbps connection is recommended for smoother gameplay. As with any streaming-based feature, performance and availability can vary depending on network conditions.
The announcement also reinforces what AFEELA is meant to represent as a brand: a fusion of intelligence and emotion in motion, built around sensing technology, interactive experiences, and human-centered design. The AFEELA 1 is set to be the first production model under the name, with deliveries scheduled to begin in California in 2026.
Sony Honda Mobility itself is a joint venture formed in 2022 between Sony Group Corporation and Honda Motor Co., combining Sony’s strengths in technology and entertainment with Honda’s long-standing automotive expertise. With PS Remote Play coming to AFEELA, the partnership is clearly signaling that the future of mobility isn’t only about driving—it’s also about what happens inside the cabin when the vehicle becomes a connected entertainment space.
