Snapchat is rolling out Imagine Lens, a powerful text-to-image AI tool that lets you generate, edit, and remix photos just by typing what you want to see. The Lens is available to Snapchat+ Platinum and Lens+ subscribers, bringing fast, mobile-first image generation directly into the camera experience.
Imagine Lens is Snapchat’s first open-prompt image generation Lens. Type your own idea—like “create an image of a grumpy cat” or “turn me into an alien”—and watch it transform your Snap. You can also pick from fun, pre-loaded prompts, including:
– Turn me into a four to five panel comic where something unexpected but heroic happens
– Make me into a funny caricature
– Make this person skydive
If you want to tweak the result, just tap the caption bar and edit your prompt into anything you’d like. When you’re happy with the image, share it with friends, post it to your Story, or send it outside of Snapchat.
Snap has been investing heavily in AI to supercharge its AR platform. Earlier this year, the company introduced a text-to-image research model optimized for mobile devices and noted that its Lenses are built using a combination of in-house and industry-leading AI models.
