Snapchat Unveils Year-End Recaps: Your Highlights, Wrapped and Ready to Share

Snapchat is rolling out its end-of-year Recaps, giving users a personalized look back at 2025 in a short, shareable video. Designed to highlight how you connected, created, and communicated throughout the year, the 2025 Snapchat Recap pulls together memorable moments from your Snaps, Stories, and Chats to create a quick snapshot of your year on the app.

Finding your recap is simple. Open Snapchat, head to the Memories section, and look for a card labeled “Your 2025 Snap Recap.” Tap it to watch your personalized video and revisit standout moments from the past year.

Snapchat’s annual recap arrives at a time when end-of-year “wrapped” style roundups have become a seasonal tradition across major apps. From music streaming to language learning, platforms are increasingly turning user data into fun, personalized summaries—and Snapchat is joining that wave with its own spin focused on communication and creativity.

Along with the rollout, Snapchat also shared new stats that reveal how people used the platform in 2025. One big takeaway: voice communication is still thriving. Snapchat says users spent nearly 1.7 billion minutes per day on average talking via phone calls, which is almost 30% more than last year. Voice notes also saw strong growth, with users in the United States sending more than five billion voice notes—nearly a 10% increase year over year.

Group chats continued to be a major way people stayed connected, too. Snapchat says the number of users sending messages in group chats grew by more than 5% in 2025. Some especially active users sent over 8,880 messages to their top group chat this year, showing just how central group conversations remain on the app.

Reactions and visual messaging also picked up momentum. Snapchat reports Chat Reactions jumped by 44% this year, with the heart emoji ranked as the most-used reaction. Stickers became even more popular as well, with three million additional people using them to communicate in 2025.

The 2025 Snap Recap launch also comes during a wave of criticism tied to Snapchat’s upcoming Memories storage changes. Some users have voiced frustration and even called for a boycott after Snapchat announced it will begin limiting free access to Memories to 5GB starting next year. Under the new approach, users who exceed that limit will need to subscribe to a storage plan.

Snapchat’s new storage options include an entry plan offering up to 100GB for $1.99 per month. Subscribers to Snapchat+ will receive up to 250GB as part of the $3.99 monthly plan, while Snapchat Platinum users will get 5TB included with the $15.99 per month subscription.

For now, the spotlight remains on the recap experience itself—an easy, personalized way for Snapchat users to revisit how they shared moments, stayed in touch, and expressed themselves throughout 2025.
