If Greek mythology is your favorite kind of fantasy setting, Achilles: Legends Untold gives you a fresh reason to return to Troy. This action RPG from Dark Point Games (released November 2, 2023) puts you in the sandals of Achilles, the famed warrior of the Trojan War. But instead of ending where the legend does, the story takes a sharp turn: Achilles is granted a second life, rising from the underworld to uncover the truth behind his return.
The world leans heavily into classic myth-inspired atmosphere. You’ll push through the ruins of Troy, explore eerie temples, and fight across open meadows that feel pulled straight from ancient epics. Along the way, you’ll meet characters who offer quests, reveal hidden lore, and pull you deeper into a mystery tied to Achilles’ new fate.
Combat is built around careful timing and resource management. You’ll need to watch stamina, balance offense and defense, and pick the right moments to unleash heavier, more devastating strikes using special weapons. The game also lets you customize Achilles, giving you room to shape your build and approach combat in a way that fits your playstyle.
Expect plenty of enemies drawn from mythology, along with confrontations involving legendary figures like Hector. Battles are designed in a challenging, methodical style similar to Souls-like games, where learning enemy patterns and choosing when to commit to an attack matters as much as raw damage.
There’s more than 20 hours of gameplay on offer, plus a co-op mode if you’d rather take on monsters and warriors with a friend. The game also uses a system called GAIA, which is designed to make enemies react to each other, adding extra unpredictability to encounters.
