Casio Unveils the Vintage AQ-240E: Sleek New Watches Featuring Ultra-Slim Digital Displays

Casio is expanding its Vintage watch lineup in the US with the newly listed AQ-240E series, arriving alongside the fresh Vintage AE159 models. The collection includes three upcoming options—AQ-240E-2A, AQ-240E-4A, and AQ-240E-7A2—currently scheduled for release in April 2026. After earlier rumors about a refreshed hybrid analog-digital design, these models are now officially on the books for the US market.

What makes the new AQ-240E releases stand out is their soft, pastel-inspired look. Each version gets its own dial personality: the AQ-240E-2A features a light blue dial with a sunburst finish, the AQ-240E-4A goes for a matte orange tone, and the AQ-240E-7A2 offers a calm, muted off-white style. Despite the different colors, the overall layout stays consistent across the range, keeping the signature hybrid format with two analog hands and a slim digital display positioned at 6 o’clock.

Casio sticks with a wearable, everyday-friendly size here. The case measures 40.9 × 35.8 × 8.1 mm and the watch weighs about 51 grams. Construction is a chrome-plated resin case paired with a stainless steel bracelet, blending a retro aesthetic with materials meant for regular use. The shape is a rounded square, giving it a softer, more fluid profile compared to some of Casio’s sharper-edged vintage designs.

Inside, these watches run on Casio Module 5154. The analog hands handle primary timekeeping, while the narrow digital screen takes care of extra functions. Buyers can expect practical staples like dual time, a 1/100-second stopwatch, a daily alarm, an hourly signal, and a full auto calendar. Accuracy is rated at ±30 seconds per month, which is typical for watches in this category.

Battery life is listed at roughly three years—slightly better than earlier expectations. Water resistance appears to be minimal, as no clear rating is shown on the official listing. In practical terms, that usually means it should be fine for normal daily wear, but it’s not something you’d want to rely on for significant water exposure.

Pricing hasn’t been clearly stated on the US listing pages yet. However, earlier information suggests these will likely land around the $60 mark, positioning them in line with existing AQ-240E models rather than pushing into a higher-priced tier.

With their slim digital display, pastel dial options, and classic Casio Vintage design language, the AQ-240E-2A, AQ-240E-4A, and AQ-240E-7A2 look like they’re aimed squarely at fans of retro styling who still want useful everyday features in a simple, affordable hybrid watch.
