Shelly’s new Dimmer Gen4 is rolling out across Europe, giving homeowners an easy way to turn existing lights into smart, dimmable fixtures without changing bulbs or switches. Building on the previous Gen3 model, the Gen4 adds multiprotocol connectivity and full Matter certification for smoother, more reliable smart home integration.
The Dimmer Gen4 supports Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, and Zigbee, so it slots into a wide variety of setups. Thanks to Matter certification, it can work within popular smart home ecosystems, including Apple Home and HomeKit, enabling straightforward pairing, scene control, and voice commands.
Designed for retrofit installations, the module does not require a neutral wire, making it suitable for many older homes. A bypass is recommended for loads under 20W to ensure stable operation. It supports a range of light types, including dimmable LED lamps, up to 150W incandescent bulbs, and up to 200W halogen lamps. Users can fine‑tune response speed and fade time for a smoother, more natural dimming experience. Control is available through the Shelly app or via voice assistants, and the compact green housing (38.5 x 43.5 x 17.0 mm) is sized to fit neatly behind most wall switches.
Key highlights:
– Multiprotocol connectivity: Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, and Zigbee
– Matter-certified for broad ecosystem compatibility, including Apple Home/HomeKit
– No neutral wire required; bypass recommended for loads under 20W
– Works with dimmable LEDs, plus up to 150W incandescent and 200W halogen
