Shelly App Now Lets Users Manage Multiple Homes From One Account
Shelly has rolled out a useful update to its Shelly Control platform, bringing a long-awaited feature to users who manage smart devices across more than one location. With the latest update, the Shelly app now supports Home Management, allowing users to create and control multiple homes directly within the platform.
The feature is available through Shelly Control, including the Android and iOS smartphone apps, as well as the web application. This means users can now organize Shelly smart home devices across different properties without needing to share one account or rely on a separate smart home system.
With the new Home Management feature, each user can create up to five different homes. This is especially helpful for people who manage devices in multiple locations, such as a main home, apartment, vacation house, office, rental property, or a family member’s home.
Each home can be personalized with its own name and icon, making it easier to switch between locations and quickly identify the correct setup. For anyone with several Shelly devices spread across different places, this update should make daily management much simpler.
One of the most practical additions is the ability to invite other Shelly Control users to a specific home. Invitations are sent using the other person’s registered email address, and the owner can decide exactly what level of access that person should have.
This means a user can allow someone to control smart plugs, switches, lights, or other connected devices without giving them full control over settings, automations, or scenes. Permission options can be adjusted depending on whether the invited person only needs basic device control or broader access to manage the entire smart home setup.
This is particularly useful for families, shared apartments, and households with children or elderly relatives. For example, seniors or younger family members can be given access to turn devices on and off, while important automation scenes and device settings remain protected from accidental changes.
The feature is also helpful for roommates, partners, or property managers who need shared access to Shelly smart home products. Previously, users often had to share one Shelly account or connect their devices through another smart home platform to achieve similar multi-user or multi-home management. Now, that functionality is built directly into Shelly Control.
The update works with devices managed through the Shelly app, including popular products such as Shelly smart plugs, switching actuators, relays, and other connected smart home devices. By bringing multi-home support and flexible user permissions into its own ecosystem, Shelly is making its app more convenient for everyday smart home control.
For users with several properties or shared living spaces, this update makes the Shelly app more powerful, organized, and user-friendly. Managing multiple Shelly smart homes is now easier, safer, and more flexible from a single account.
