EverQuest Legends Release Date Confirmed: Classic Norrath Returns on PC This July
Daybreak Game Company has officially announced the release date for EverQuest Legends, a reimagined take on the legendary 1999 MMORPG EverQuest. The new version is set to launch for Windows PC on July 28, bringing players back to the world of Norrath with a blend of classic charm and modern improvements.
EverQuest Legends will be available for $19.99, with a monthly subscription priced at $9.99. Players who purchase the game will receive the first month of subscription time at no extra cost.
Preorders are now open through the game’s official site. Those who preorder will gain exclusive access to the preorder beta, which runs from July 1 through July 21. Preordering also allows players to reserve their character name ahead of launch and unlock the optional in-game title “The Legend.”
EverQuest Legends is being built with a fresh approach to the classic MMORPG formula. While it keeps the spirit, atmosphere, and nostalgic appeal of the original EverQuest, this version is designed to be far more accessible for solo and casual players.
Unlike traditional MMORPG experiences that often require large groups for meaningful progression, EverQuest Legends allows the entire game to be played and enjoyed solo. Players who prefer teaming up can still do so, with groups supporting up to four players and raids supporting up to eight players. However, solo adventurers will have the tools and freedom to take on even the toughest challenges over time.
One of the biggest new features in EverQuest Legends is the ability to build highly customizable characters. Each character can select up to three active classes at once, opening the door to hundreds of possible combinations. For example, players can create a rogue, paladin, and wizard hybrid, combining stealth, holy power, and magic into one character.
This multi-class system gives players far more control over how they want to explore Norrath. With 15 playable races and 560 possible class combinations, EverQuest Legends offers a deep character-building system that encourages experimentation and personal playstyle.
Gear progression is also being expanded. Players can upgrade weapons and armor up to +10, while also swapping and combining different focus effects, click effects, and proc effects on equipment. As characters level up and improve their gear, they can become powerful enough to face high-end content alone or with a small group of friends.
At launch, EverQuest Legends will feature the continent of Antonica in its pre-Kunark form. The game will include all EverQuest playable races, including Iksar, Frogloks, and Kerran. Fans of the original game can expect the classic EverQuest art style, including familiar graphics, zones, spell effects, loot, and music, while also encountering new surprises along the way.
The goal of EverQuest Legends is to preserve the feeling of classic EverQuest while making it easier to enjoy in today’s gaming landscape. Players can expect modern quality-of-life upgrades, including a streamlined user interface, improved spell and ability management, and other enhancements designed to make the experience smoother without losing its old-school identity.
For longtime fans, EverQuest Legends offers a chance to return to one of the most iconic MMORPG worlds ever created. For former players, it may be the perfect reason to step back into Norrath after years away. For newcomers, it provides a more approachable way to experience the foundation of one of online gaming’s most influential fantasy worlds.
EverQuest Legends launches for Windows PC on July 28. With solo-friendly progression, flexible class combinations, classic zones, modern features, and a deep sense of nostalgia, it aims to bring the magic of EverQuest to both veteran adventurers and a new generation of players.
