BenQ LU895UST debuts in Europe: a compact ultra short throw laser projector with 5,000 ANSI lumens
BenQ has introduced the LU895UST, a WUXGA ultra short throw projector built for immersive entertainment spaces, simulation setups, and modern classrooms where big visuals and bright environments demand serious light output. According to the company, it’s the most compact UST projector in its class capable of delivering up to 5,000 ANSI lumens, making it a compelling fit for venues that need large, vibrant images from just inches away from the screen.
The LU895UST uses a laser light source and a DLP engine to produce a 1,920 x 1,200 resolution image with a 0.253:1 throw ratio. That ultra short throw design can cast visuals up to 200 inches wide while sitting very close to the wall or screen—ideal for tight spaces and high-traffic installations. BenQ lists a 3,000,000:1 full on/full off contrast ratio and 93% coverage of the Rec.709 color gamut, along with picture modes tailored to different content, including Simulation, HDR10, and sRGB.
To help perfect the image, the projector includes 2D Keystone correction and is marketed as blending ready for multi-projector setups where seamless large-scale visuals are required. Connectivity covers most pro and education needs: two HDMI 2.0b inputs with HDCP 2.2, an RJ45 port for network integration, and a USB-A port. A built-in 10W speaker provides basic onboard audio for quick deployments.
Despite its capabilities, the LU895UST remains relatively compact at 327 x 328.3 x 131.6 mm (12.87 x 12.93 x 5.18 inches). In Europe, it’s priced at €3,999. Availability for North America has not been announced.
