China is accelerating its efforts in RISC-V technology with the introduction of the Shanghai Open Source Computing Research Institute. Announced during the 5th RISC-V Summit China on July 17, 2025, this initiative marks a significant step forward. Following in the footsteps of the Beijing Open Source Silicon Innovation Center, this new hub is poised to enhance domestic advancements in open instruction set architecture (ISA) development.
