Seiko and Kojima Productions Unveil Limited-Edition Ludens Watches for the Studio’s 10th Anniversary
Kojima Productions is celebrating its tenth anniversary with a stylish new collaboration with Seiko, introducing two limited-edition Ludens watches designed for fans of Hideo Kojima’s studio and collectors of Japanese timepieces.
The new Seiko x Kojima Productions watches arrive in two color options, black and white, with only 300 units available for each version. That limited production run makes them highly collectible, especially for fans of the studio’s iconic mascot, Ludens.
Both watches feature a dial inspired by Ludens, the astronaut-like figure closely associated with Kojima Productions. The white model stands out with a silver-and-white dial, a patterned white strap, and a large Ludens illustration placed prominently on the right side of the watch face. The design also includes the studio’s well-known slogan, “From Sapiens to Ludens,” giving the watch a strong connection to the creative identity of Kojima Productions.
The caseback continues the commemorative theme with an engraved Ludens artwork, the Seiko logo, and an individual serial number. Since each version is limited to 300 pieces, the serial number adds an extra layer of exclusivity for collectors.
Inside the watch is Seiko’s 6N01 battery-powered quartz movement. It offers a stated accuracy of plus or minus 15 seconds per month and an estimated battery life of around three years. The watches also feature a stainless steel case, Hardlex crystal, a 19 mm strap width, and basic daily water resistance. Both models are made in Japan.
The black Ludens watch is priced at ¥55,000, which is approximately $350. Preorders began on October 30 through Lawson convenience stores in Japan and HMV&BOOKS. Reservations are expected to remain open until December 14, unless the limited stock sells out before then.
The white version is slightly more expensive at ¥57,600, or around $365. This edition includes an admission ticket to “Beyond the Strand,” the Kojima Productions tenth-anniversary exhibition being held at Azabudai Hills Gallery in Tokyo. The exhibition runs from October 31 through December 20, although the bundled ticket can only be used for entry between November 4 and December 20.
There is one major detail buyers should know before placing a preorder: delivery is scheduled for September 30, 2027. That means fans who secure one of these limited-edition Seiko Ludens watches will need to wait nearly eleven months before receiving it.
For collectors of Kojima Productions merchandise, Seiko watches, or gaming-inspired Japanese design, this collaboration is likely to be one of the more desirable anniversary items. With only 600 watches in total across both variants, the Seiko x Kojima Productions Ludens collection is aimed squarely at dedicated fans who do not mind waiting for a rare piece of studio history.
