Samsung Unveils the World’s First 130-Inch Micro RGB TV Delivering Full BT.2020 Color Coverage

Samsung is turning heads ahead of CES 2026 with a massive new display: the world’s first 130-inch Micro RGB TV. Known internally as the R95H, this ultra-large television is built to deliver next-level color accuracy, higher brightness control, and a more premium “in-your-home theater” experience than conventional big-screen TVs.

One of the headline features is full coverage of the BT.2020 color gamut. Samsung says the R95H reaches 100% of BT.2020, a key metric because BT.2020 represents one of the widest color spaces used in modern video standards. In practical terms, that can translate into more lifelike greens, deeper reds, and a broader range of shades that help movies, nature footage, sports, and HDR content look more realistic on a screen this large.

What makes this TV different is the Micro RGB backlight system. Instead of relying on a white backlight paired with color filters (a common approach in many TVs), Micro RGB uses dedicated red, green, and blue LEDs to generate color directly. That design can enable tighter control over how color and brightness are produced across the panel, which matters even more at 130 inches where uniformity, detail, and consistency can be harder to maintain. Samsung also notes the display has earned VDE certification for color accuracy, supporting its focus on precise color reproduction.

To manage the image on such a large canvas, Samsung is using a suite of AI-powered processing features. The TV is driven by the Micro RGB AI Engine Pro, along with Micro RGB Color Booster Pro and Micro RGB HDR Pro. Together, these systems handle real-time color mapping, contrast, and brightness adjustments. Samsung’s goal is improved shadow detail in dark scenes, controlled highlights in bright scenes, and consistent colors under different room lighting conditions. The R95H also supports HDR10+ Advanced, enabling scene-by-scene HDR tuning so content can look closer to the creator’s intent.

Samsung is also addressing a common issue with gigantic screens: reflections. The panel includes a glare-free, low-reflectivity coating designed to reduce distracting reflections and help preserve contrast in brighter rooms. This can be especially important for a 130-inch display, where ambient light can easily wash out details if reflections aren’t managed well.

To keep the TV from visually overpowering a room, Samsung is introducing a “Timeless Frame” design that builds on its gallery-inspired styling. The idea is to make the screen feel more like a large window than a traditional television. Audio is integrated directly into the frame as well, with tuning intended to better match the scale of the display so sound placement feels more natural relative to on-screen action.

On the smart features side, the R95H runs Samsung’s updated Vision AI Companion. It includes conversational voice search and content recommendations, plus AI-focused features such as AI Football Mode Pro, Live Translate, and Generative Wallpaper. Samsung also mentions support for integrations with services like Microsoft Copilot and Perplexity, expanding what users can do from the TV interface. For audio, the set supports Eclipsa Audio, aimed at delivering a more immersive sound experience suited to a screen of this size.

Samsung will showcase the 130-inch Micro RGB TV at CES 2026 in Las Vegas. Pricing and availability for the R95H haven’t been announced yet, but the specs alone suggest Samsung is positioning it as a cutting-edge, ultra-premium centerpiece for luxury home entertainment setups.
