Samsung Display is gearing up to introduce its exciting new foldable display brand, Mont Flex, at the K-Display 2025 event in Seoul on August 7. This move underlines the company’s confidence and ambition in the foldable smartphone arena and other cutting-edge product categories.
Since diving into the foldable device market in 2019 with the groundbreaking Samsung Galaxy Fold, Samsung has been a trailblazer. With Mont Flex, the company aims to set new benchmarks and strengthen its position in the display solutions industry. Products under the Mont Flex brand are expected to stand out with unmatched durability and performance standards.
While Samsung has yet to announce which device will first feature the Mont Flex branding, it’s widely speculated that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 set for a 2026 release could be the first.
The name Mont Flex is inspired by the French word “mont,” meaning mountain, symbolizing the company’s lofty goals in foldable display technology. The name also breaks down into specific attributes:
– ‘M’ stands for ‘mechanically durable’, promising robust strength even in a foldable design.
– ‘O’ signifies ‘opto-mechanically flat’, ensuring minimal creasing at folding points.
– ‘N’ highlights ‘narrow bezels’, maximizing screen area while keeping device dimensions sleek.
– ‘T’ represents a ‘thin and lightweight design’, an area where Samsung’s recent Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 have already made significant strides.
With these advances, the next generation of Mont Flex devices promises to be even more streamlined and stylish, setting new standards in the world of foldable displays.
