Samsung Sets a New Launch Date for Its Ultra-Premium Foldable Flagship

Samsung’s ultra-premium foldable lineup just got a major update for US buyers. After finally arriving stateside last month, the Galaxy Z TriFold disappeared almost instantly—launch-day stock sold out on January 30, with reports suggesting Samsung burned through its initial allocation in under 30 minutes. While that kind of speed can signal strong demand, it also highlights another reality: the first US drop appears to have been extremely limited.

Now, nearly a month later, Samsung is bringing the Galaxy Z TriFold back as part of its first official restock. The new US availability window is set for February 20 at 7:00 AM ET / 10:00 AM PT. If you missed the first release, this is the next opportunity to buy Samsung’s first-generation tri-fold smartphone without waiting for another round of inventory.

That said, shoppers should temper expectations about how easy it will be to grab one. Samsung isn’t saying how many units will be available in the restock, and the lack of a stated quantity suggests supply could once again be tight. In other words, the Galaxy Z TriFold may sell out quickly again, especially given its headline-making status as Samsung’s first tri-foldable device in the US.

Pricing is firmly in ultra-premium territory. The Galaxy Z TriFold retails for $2,899 in a single configuration, offering 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. Under the hood, it’s powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset, and it includes the same cover display approach seen on Samsung’s latest foldable designs.

Potential buyers should also be aware that some early adopters have reported display-related issues. As with any first-generation foldable form factor—especially one as complex as a tri-fold—durability and panel behavior are key points to consider before spending nearly $3,000.

If you’re planning to buy the Galaxy Z TriFold in the US, the best strategy is to be ready right at the restock time on February 20. With no official word on quantities, this restock could be another limited run that disappears fast.
