Samsung is bringing AirDrop-style sharing to its own Quick Share feature, starting with the Galaxy S26 lineup. In a March 23 announcement, the company confirmed that “AirDrop support” is rolling out first to the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra, giving Samsung’s newest flagship phones an upgraded way to send files quickly between devices.
This update is being framed as a software enhancement rather than anything tied to new hardware. Still, it’s a meaningful change for people who share photos, videos, and documents across multiple devices and platforms. Quick Share has long been Samsung’s built-in solution for fast, nearby transfers, and adding AirDrop support signals a bigger push toward smoother cross-device sharing—especially for users who regularly move content between different ecosystems. Samsung hasn’t shared deeper technical details on how the feature works behind the scenes, keeping the focus on availability and rollout plans.
Korea is the first stop for the rollout. Samsung says the update begins March 23 in its home market, then expands to additional regions. The company specifically lists Europe, Hong Kong, Japan, Latin America, North America, Southeast Asia, and Taiwan as next in line, while noting that the schedule will vary by market. In other words, Galaxy S26 owners outside Korea may need to wait a bit, even though the broader global release is already confirmed.
For now, this new Quick Share capability is limited to the Galaxy S26 family. Samsung says support for more Galaxy devices will be announced later, but it hasn’t provided a timeline or named which phones and tablets will be next. That makes the Galaxy S26 series the initial launch platform for the feature, with a wider expansion likely if the first wave goes smoothly.
