Roland is expanding its mobile recording lineup with the new Go:Mixer Studio, a compact audio interface and portable mixer built for musicians, podcasters, and content creators who want better sound while recording on the go. Designed for quick setups at rehearsals, live performances, interviews, and streaming sessions, the Go:Mixer Studio lets you blend multiple sources in real time, monitor everything as you record, and still keep the option to fine-tune the mix later.
A major highlight is how many sources it can handle in one portable unit. The Go:Mixer Studio can mix up to 14 analog input channels on location, making it a practical choice for creators juggling vocals, instruments, backing tracks, and external mics. If you’re recording at the highest quality setting, it supports up to 8 channels at a 192 kHz sampling rate, giving users a high-resolution capture option when audio detail matters most.
The input selection is geared toward real-world creator setups. You get two combination 1/4-inch/XLR inputs with phantom power for condenser microphones, plus a dedicated guitar/bass input for direct recording without extra gear. There are also two 1/4-inch left/right line inputs for keyboards or other line-level sources, a 1/8-inch aux input for playback devices, and a headset microphone input for fast voice capture. For monitoring and playback, the unit provides line-out and a headphone output, so you can listen while recording and easily route your mix to speakers.
For creators who prefer capturing clean digital audio straight into a modern device, the Go:Mixer Studio also outputs digital audio through USB-C. It supports 24-bit audio with sampling rates from 44.1 kHz up to 192 kHz, helping users keep recordings crisp and detailed whether they’re producing music content, podcasts, or performance videos.
Roland is also leaning into video-friendly workflows. With the Roland Go:Cam app on iPhone and iPad, users can record performance video while capturing multitrack audio at the same time. After recording, the audio mix can be rebalanced for better clarity and blend before posting. If you want deeper editing, tracks can be exported to a DAW for additional processing, arrangement changes, or professional mastering.
Onboard controls make it easy to shape sound without carrying extra processors. Reverb, compression, and EQ can be applied using the physical knobs and buttons on the mixer, which is ideal for quick adjustments during a set or live session. If you prefer working from a computer, those settings can also be controlled remotely using the Go:Mixer Editor app on PC or Mac. A built-in 320 x 240 display helps confirm levels and settings at a glance, which is useful in busy recording environments where you need quick visual feedback.
Pricing is positioned for serious creators who want a portable, multi-input solution without jumping to a full studio mixer. The Roland Go:Mixer Studio has an MSRP of $299 and is available through authorized dealers.
