Intel has unveiled its new Xeon 6 processors, designed specifically to boost AI performance on the NVIDIA DGX B300 platform by introducing groundbreaking features. These “Granite Rapids” Xeon 6 P-Core CPUs bring enhancements like PCT and SST-TF, as well as 30% faster memory, ensuring GPUs run without delays.
CPU bottlenecks can hinder performance in systems powered by GPUs, but Intel’s Xeon 6 Performance Core processors alleviate this issue. Three new Xeon 6 P-core processors, including the Xeon 6776P with its 64-core/128-thread configuration, can easily meet the demands of high-performance GPUs.
The Blackwell-based DGX B300 system, featuring the Xeon 6776P, gains enhanced processing power, directly benefiting AI workload performance. These new Xeon SKUs underscore Intel’s commitment to providing unmatched performance for next-generation GPU-accelerated AI systems.

The Xeon 6 processors come with two new features: Priority Core Turbo (PCT) and Speed Select Technology – Technology Frequency (SST-TF). PCT boosts selected high-priority core frequencies during critical workloads, ensuring the GPU receives instructions swiftly. SST-TF adjusts core frequencies based on load, enhancing performance and efficiency.
Intel reports that Xeon 6 offers a 30% increase in memory speed over previous generations. High-speed, high-capacity memory is essential for fast AI workload execution. With support for MRDIMMs and CXL, systems using Xeon 6 processors can tap into high-bandwidth memories, further speeding up tasks.
Additionally, the Xeon 6 offers 20% more PCI-E lanes than its predecessors, facilitating faster data transfer between the CPU and GPU. These improvements make Xeon 6 processors an attractive choice for enterprises. Through features like PCT and SST-TF, Xeon 6 accelerates large AI model training and inference, aiding businesses in achieving greater efficiency.
