Both devices generate electricity when there’s a temperature difference, with the electrical output dictated by the size of the temperature variance and the amount of conductive material used.

What’s even more impressive is the material’s durability. It remains effective even after a year of use and multiple washes. Though the material retains two-thirds of its conductive strength after seven washes, the team acknowledges the need for further improvements for real-world applications.

Currently, the production process is time-consuming since it involves a lot of manual labor, including careful preparation and sewing. For instance, making just one fabric sample requires four days of painstaking hand-stitching in the lab.
