Retroid Pocket G2 Goes Global: Preorders Live for Snapdragon-Powered Handheld in Five Colors

Retroid has opened global pre-orders for the Pocket G2, a compact Android 15 gaming handheld that also happens to debut Qualcomm’s Snapdragon G2 Gen 2 platform. Early-bird pricing is set at $199, with the standard price moving to $219 after the launch window. Color options include 16-bit, Black, GameCube, Turquoise, and Yellow.

Unlike recent models from the same brand that shipped with Android 13 or 14, the Pocket G2 arrives with Android 15 out of the box, offering the latest system features and improved app compatibility. It’s also the first device to ship with the Snapdragon G2 Gen 2, announced earlier this year at GDC 2025.

Key hardware highlights:
– Snapdragon G2 Gen 2 CPU: 1x Kryo Gold Plus prime core at 2.8 GHz, 4x Kryo Gold performance cores at 2.57 GHz, and 3x Kryo Silver efficiency cores at 1.9 GHz
– Adreno A22 GPU
– 8 GB LPDDR5x RAM
– 128 GB UFS 3.1 storage
– 5.5-inch AMOLED display at 1080p, 60 Hz
– 5,000 mAh battery with 27 W wired fast charging
– Bluetooth 5.4 and Wi‑Fi 6 connectivity
– Active cooling to sustain performance
– Dimensions: 199.2 x 78.5 x 15.6 mm; weight: 280 g

Most Pocket G2 pre-orders are slated to start shipping on October 29. Turquoise and Yellow units will follow shortly after, with dispatch beginning November 5. If you’re aiming for the best price, the $199 early-bird offer is the one to grab before it moves to the $219 standard price.
