Xiaomi has introduced a new student-focused tablet in China: the Redmi Pad 2 Pro Learning Edition. It builds on the same hardware found in the standard Redmi Pad 2 Pro, but adds learning-first software features and school-friendly accessories aimed at kids and students.
Launched as a special variant after the Redmi Pad 2 Pro debuted in September 2025, this Learning Edition keeps the core specs intact. It features a 12.1-inch display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate and a sharp 2.5K resolution. One of the most practical upgrades for studying is the matte glass screen, designed to cut down glare and help reduce eye strain during long reading or lesson sessions.
Inside, the tablet runs on the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 and comes in a single configuration with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Power is handled by a large 12,000mAh battery, paired with 33W fast wired charging. It also supports 27W reverse wired charging, which can be handy for topping up smaller gadgets in a pinch.
Where the Redmi Pad 2 Pro Learning Edition truly separates itself is in what’s included and what it’s built to do. In the box, buyers get a colorful rugged case and a smart stylus. The case is made for everyday classroom and home use, complete with a latch, a dedicated stylus slot, and a foldable cover that doubles as a kickstand for typing, watching lessons, or video calling.
Xiaomi is also leaning heavily into AI learning tools. The tablet includes an AI teacher designed around a one-on-one tutoring approach, aiming to feel more like interactive classroom teaching with real-time questions and answers. For parents and students, one of the headline features is AI-powered homework grading, which can check assignments with a single tap, deliver feedback, and highlight knowledge gaps so students know what to focus on next.
Adding more value for learners, Xiaomi says the device includes a three-year subscription to the Xiaomi Education Center. This brings together learning resources such as a wide range of textbooks, more than 150,000 lessons, and structured study plans intended to support ongoing progress over time.
Pricing reflects the added education features and bundled accessories. The Redmi Pad 2 Pro Learning Edition is priced at CNY 2699 (around $396 / €337), notably higher than the standard model with the same memory and storage, which costs CNY 1799 (around $264 / €225). For now, it’s a China-only release, and there’s no confirmed word on an international rollout. Still, with kid-focused tablet versions already available in some regions for other models, a wider launch for a similar Redmi Pad 2 Pro education edition remains a possibility.
