Redmi K90 Pro leak points to 6.6-inch display and a switch to MediaTek silicon
Xiaomi’s Redmi K90 family is still growing. After the October 2025 debut of the Redmi K90 and K90 Pro Max, attention is turning to two more models expected to round out the lineup: the Redmi K90 Pro and the Redmi K90 Ultra. A new leak offers the clearest hint yet at what the Pro could bring to the table.
According to Weibo tipster Smart Pikachu, the current Redmi K90 Pro prototype features a 6.6-inch display. That keeps it in nearly the same footprint as the Redmi K80 Pro, which arrived with a 6.67-inch panel. For fans of a more manageable flagship size, this suggests Xiaomi is sticking with a comfortable, pocket-friendly form factor.
Under the hood, Xiaomi may be plotting a notable chipset shift. While the Redmi K80 Pro launched on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite, early reports now suggest the K90 Pro could move to a MediaTek flagship. The rumor mill points specifically to the Dimensity 9500 for the K90 Pro, with the Redmi K90 Ultra potentially stepping up to the Dimensity 9500+. If that roadmap holds, the Ultra’s timing could align with the usual mid-year window when MediaTek unveils its “Plus” variants, making a mid-2026 debut likely.
As for the Redmi K90 Pro’s release date, there’s still no firm timeline. If it doesn’t land by December 2025, a China-first launch in early 2026 appears increasingly plausible. Another well-known Weibo leaker has already teased details about the Ultra, adding weight to the idea that both models are moving through development in parallel.
What this means for buyers: expect a familiar size, potentially improved power efficiency and AI capabilities from a MediaTek flagship, and a staggered rollout with the Ultra following the Pro. As always, these are leaks and plans can change, but the direction suggests Xiaomi is readying a compelling alternative to its Snapdragon-powered predecessors.
We’ll share more as certification filings, benchmark sightings, or official teasers surface. For now, the Redmi K90 Pro looks set to refine the formula with a 6.6-inch display and a possible Dimensity 9500 at its core, while the K90 Ultra aims higher with a Dimensity 9500+.
