The anticipation for Xiaomi’s Redmi K80 series is reaching new heights as the company has begun teasing their upcoming flagship phones. Rumor has it that the series, set to launch soon in China, will initially feature two models. The standard version is speculated to include the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, while the Pro model could boast the brand-new Snapdragon 8 Elite.
Recently, the Redmi K80 Pro made a quiet appearance on Geekbench under the model number “Xiaomi 24122RKC7C.” However, the preliminary benchmark scores were somewhat underwhelming. In this test, the K80 Pro achieved 2,753 points in the single-core category and 8,460 in the multi-core. Although these results are not at the top of the range for a Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, they align closely with other newly unveiled flagship devices. For context, the Nubia Z70 Ultra had also been tested on Geekbench, scoring 3,203 and 10,260 points in single-core and multi-core tests, respectively.
It’s important to note that these benchmark results for the K80 Pro are early and might not reflect the phone’s final performance. As the phone moves closer to its official release, further refinements could enhance its processing power. Xiaomi has hinted at significant upgrades for these new affordable flagship phones, though specific specifications have not yet been disclosed.
Adding to the buzz, a teaser on Weibo confirmed that the Redmi K80 series will feature a 2K display with complete DC dimming support. Additionally, for the first time in the series, wireless charging is expected to be part of the package.
With such promising features on the horizon, the Redmi K80 series is shaping up to be a noteworthy entry in the smartphone market. As the launch date approaches, tech enthusiasts are eager to see what Xiaomi has in store. Stay tuned for more updates as the official announcement draws nearer.
