RedMagic Teases High-Octane Specs for the Upcoming 11 Air Before Its Debut

RedMagic is getting ready to expand its gaming phone lineup with a new model designed to be slimmer and lighter than what many people expect from performance-focused devices. Called the RedMagic 11 Air, the phone has already had its design teased, and the company has now shared key performance and hardware details ahead of its official debut.

At the center of the RedMagic 11 Air is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite, a top-tier flagship chipset from 2025. RedMagic says it’s pairing this processor with its own Red Core R4 chip, a combination the brand claims is built to keep gaming performance smooth and stable during long sessions. For storage and memory, the phone is confirmed to use UFS 4.1 storage along with “LPDDR5X Ultra” RAM, both described as being tuned specifically for high performance and faster loading.

One of the more attention-grabbing features is a built-in PC game emulator. RedMagic describes it as essentially the same type of tool as Winlator, and the company claims the 11 Air can emulate demanding open-world titles like “Tomb Raider 9” and racing games such as “Need For Speed 17” at an average of 60 FPS. If those results hold up in real-world testing, it could make the phone appealing to gamers who want to experiment with PC-style gaming on Android hardware.

RedMagic also shared performance claims for native Android gaming. According to the company, the RedMagic 11 Air can run open-world games like Honkai Impact 3rd at an average of 60 FPS. For higher frame rate titles, RedMagic says FPS games like Delta Force can reach 144 FPS, and MOBA games can also hit 144 FPS. The company adds that the 1% lows for the 144 FPS titles shouldn’t dip below 141 FPS, suggesting highly consistent frame pacing.

Even though the numbers sound plausible for a heavily optimized Snapdragon 8 Elite gaming phone, it’s worth keeping expectations realistic. These figures come directly from the manufacturer and are based on pre-launch testing, which doesn’t always reflect final retail performance across different settings, updates, and real gameplay conditions.

Alongside the performance talk, RedMagic has confirmed several other specs. The RedMagic 11 Air will feature a 6.85-inch display with a 95.1% screen-to-body ratio and a 144Hz refresh rate, aimed at delivering smoother motion and better responsiveness for competitive gaming. It will also include a built-in active cooling fan, a signature feature that has helped RedMagic phones sustain higher performance under load.

More official details are expected to surface soon, especially as the phone approaches its scheduled China launch on January 20, 2026. For gamers watching the next wave of flagship Android gaming phones, the RedMagic 11 Air is shaping up to be one of the more interesting launches of early 2026—especially if its thin-and-light design can deliver the performance the company is promising.
