Realme seems poised to expand its lineup with another addition to its smartphone range – the Realme 12 5G. Recently, the device was spotted through Malaysia’s SIRIM certification body, signaling its impending release. It presents itself as an accessible option for consumers in the Android market priced below $350, catering to those looking for an economical alternative.
The new entrant, the Realme 12 5G, carries the model number RMX3999. It has now emerged on benchmarking platform Geekbench, revealing its potential specifications. Based on these details, the Realme 12 5G is set to run on Android 14 out of the box, augmented with 8GB of RAM.
In contrast to its higher-end counterpart, the Realme 12 Plus, the Realme 12 features a different chipset. The benchmark listing points to a “k6835v1_64” platform comprising 8 ARM cores, where 2 cores operate at a clock speed of 2.2GHz and the remaining 6 cores at 2GHz. Speculations suggest that the device may be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ processor, which could explain its Geekbench performance with single-core scores of around 700 and multi-core scores falling just below the 2000 mark.
Anticipations are high that the Realme 12 5G will follow in the footsteps of its Plus variant, likely becoming available across various Southeast Asian markets. There’s also the potential for the Realme 12 5G to be introduced in India under a different name, possibly as the Narzo 70.
As the Realme brand continues to adjust its catalog, the Narzo 60 has been spotted with a starting price of INR 14,999 (approximately $181) on marketplaces such as Amazon. Consumers continue to have a broad range of options from Realme, whether looking for luxury design elements or seeking value-for-money propositions in their smartphone purchases. With the Realme 12 5G making rounds in the rumor mill, a launch might be just around the corner, providing an alternative for budget-conscious tech enthusiasts craving the latest device features without breaking the bank.
