Razer has just unveiled the Core X V2, a cutting-edge eGPU dock that promises to elevate your gaming and performance experience. Priced at $350, this enclosure features the latest Thunderbolt 5 port, capable of delivering a remarkable 80 Gbps bandwidth, outperforming OCuLink. It supports powerful GPUs like the Nvidia RTX 50 series and AMD Radeon RX 9000 series.
This eGPU dock boasts compatibility with Thunderbolt 4 and USB4 connections, although these offer up to 40 Gbps—which is still impressive. Designed to house full-sized desktop cards, it can accommodate even the bulkier 4-slot wide options. However, bear in mind that the enclosure requires a standard ATX power supply, which isn’t included.
One standout feature is its robust 140 W power delivery. This means you can conveniently power gaming handhelds and most laptops directly from the eGPU dock. To maintain optimal performance, the Core X V2 is equipped with a 120 mm fan that adjusts speed based on system load, along with strategically placed ventilation holes for enhanced cooling.
While Razer has yet to announce the availability date for the Core X V2, this eGPU dock is set to be a game-changer for enthusiasts and professionals seeking desktop-class performance on the go. Stay tuned for more updates!
