Razer Hammerhead V3 X Hyperspeed Gets PlayStation and Xbox Editions With Matching Console Designs
Razer has expanded its Hammerhead V3 X Hyperspeed gaming earbuds lineup with new PlayStation and Xbox editions, giving console players a more platform-focused version of its wireless earbuds. Both models keep the same core features as the standard Hammerhead V3 X Hyperspeed while adding designs that better match Sony and Microsoft’s current-generation consoles.
The Hammerhead V3 X Hyperspeed originally launched in April as part of Razer’s latest gaming earbud range. Now, the company is targeting console gamers more directly with two dedicated versions: one styled for PlayStation and one built with Xbox branding in mind.
The PlayStation edition features a clean white finish across the earbuds and charging case, closely matching the look of the PlayStation 5. Razer’s logo appears in blue on the earbuds, while the charging case includes PlayStation branding. The inside of the case remains black, giving it a two-tone look similar to the standard model.
The Xbox edition takes a more familiar Razer approach. It keeps the black earbuds and black outer charging case, along with the green Razer logo. However, the interior of the charging case uses Xbox green, giving it a subtle but recognizable console-inspired touch.
In terms of features, both the PlayStation and Xbox versions are largely the same. Each model uses Razer’s HyperSpeed wireless technology for a low-latency 2.4GHz connection, which is especially important for gaming where audio delay can affect the experience. The earbuds also support Bluetooth 5.3, giving users more flexibility when connecting to compatible devices.
Battery life is another key selling point. Razer says both versions can last up to 10 hours on a single charge, while console use brings that figure to around 8 hours when connected to a PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S. With the charging case included, total battery life reaches up to 35 hours.
The earbuds are also rated IPX4 for water resistance. That means they can handle sweat and light splashes, making them suitable for longer gaming sessions, commutes, workouts, or everyday use.
Spatial audio support differs depending on the platform. The PlayStation edition supports 3D audio for immersive sound on compatible PlayStation games, while the Xbox edition uses Windows Sonic for spatial audio. When connected to a PC, both versions support THX Spatial Audio for 7.1 surround sound, giving players a wider and more directional listening experience.
Razer has also included touch controls, allowing users to manage audio and calls without reaching for another device. The charging case includes an LED indicator, making it easy to check charging status at a glance.
Compatibility goes beyond just PlayStation and Xbox. Both versions also work with PC, Android devices, Mac, Nintendo Switch, Steam Deck, and other handheld gaming systems. That makes the Hammerhead V3 X Hyperspeed a flexible option for players who use multiple platforms.
The Razer Hammerhead V3 X Hyperspeed PlayStation Edition and Xbox Edition are priced at $99.99, the same as the standard version. That price makes them a more affordable alternative to some premium console-focused wireless earbuds, including Sony’s Pulse Explore earbuds, which cost significantly more.
