The Radeon RX 9070 GRE is expanding its reach beyond China, with new availability announced in Taiwan and Hong Kong just two months after its initial launch. Traditionally, the Golden Rabbit Edition graphics cards have been exclusive to China, only reaching other markets about a year later. This time, however, the expansion is happening much faster.
The Sapphire edition is anticipated to hit the retail scene first in Taiwan. Meanwhile, in Hong Kong, ASRock is ready to roll out the RX 9070 GRE Steel Legend Dark 12GB OC edition. This particular model features an impressive 2920 MHz boost clock, 130 MHz above the reference edition, and boasts a triple fan design along with dual 8-pin PCIe connectors. With 3072 Stream Processors and 12 GB of GDDR6 memory, it sits comfortably between the RX 9060 XT and RX 9070, offering competition to the GeForce RTX 5070.
Felton Distribution, a well-known retailer in Hong Kong, plans to make this ASRock edition available soon. While ASRock joins ASUS and Sapphire in producing the RX 9070 GRE, you can find this edition listed on the Taiwanese subdomain.
Priced under $500, the RX 9070 GRE targets the mid-range market effectively, despite having less VRAM than rivals like the RX 9060 XT and RTX 5060 Ti. Its performance at 1440p is more than enough for most games. However, for those seeking a more future-proof option, considering an RX 9070 XT—albeit at a higher price—is advisable.
As the rollout continues, it won’t be surprising to see the RX 9070 GRE reaching additional regions in the coming months, marking a faster global distribution trend than previous generations.
