Tiiny AI is getting ready to launch its Pocket Lab mini PC on crowdfunding, and the company has now shared early pricing details for this ultra-compact machine. Despite a chassis that’s small enough to fit in a pocket, the Pocket Lab is positioned as a serious local AI box thanks to a high-core ARM processor, a large memory pool, and a dedicated AI accelerator.
The Pocket Lab measures roughly 14.2 x 8 x 2.5 cm (about 5.6 x 3.15 x 1 inches) and weighs around 300 grams. That’s an impressively small footprint for a device that’s aiming to handle demanding on-device AI workloads without depending on the cloud.
On the hardware side, Tiiny AI lists a 12-core ARM CPU paired with 80 GB of LPDDR5X memory. Storage is set at 1 TB via SSD, and the system is rated for a 30-watt TDP. The headline feature is a discrete NPU designed for AI tasks, rated at up to 160 TOPS (INT8), which is the kind of number typically used to signal strong edge AI performance for inference workloads.
Tiiny AI also claims the Pocket Lab can run large language models with up to 120 billion parameters locally. That’s an attention-grabbing promise for a mini PC this small, and it comes with some important caveats. Running a 120B model is extremely demanding, so real-world results will likely depend on aggressive quantization and workload settings. The company cites an output speed of 21.14 tokens per second on a 120B GPT-OSS model, but as with any pre-launch performance claim, it’s smart to wait for independent testing before treating those figures as guaranteed day-to-day performance.
Pricing is equally bold. Tiiny AI says the Pocket Lab will be priced at $1,399 during the crowdfunding phase. Early backers can reserve a unit by putting down $10, which comes with a $100 discount off that crowdfunding price.
Potential buyers should also keep in mind the usual risks tied to crowdfunding hardware projects: schedules can slip, production challenges can pop up unexpectedly, and shipping timelines can change—especially for brands without an established track record in mass-delivering devices like this.
