The Core Ultra 5 225F, part of Intel’s diverse lineup planned for early 2025, aims to offer a more budget-friendly option without sacrificing much on performance. Though it’s equipped with just 10 cores compared to the 14 in models like the Core Ultra 5 235, the benchmark results are surprisingly close. On Geekbench 6.3, the 225F scored 2653 in single-core and 13028 in multi-core performance, shadowing the 235’s numbers of 2634 and 13293, respectively. This similarity suggests that while the 225F may not top the charts against the latest AMD Ryzen 9000 series, it holds its ground well against its pricier siblings within the Ultra 5 lineup.
The 225F doesn’t include integrated graphics, which may contribute to its expected lower price point compared to the Core Ultra 5 235 and other variants. Moreover, its clock speeds, slightly toned down, signal a more balanced power draw with a TDP of 65W. One of the other notable differences is a slight reduction in L3 cache from what was previously anticipated, clocking it to 20 MB.
Intel’s upcoming CPU, with a 6-P+4-E core structure and clock speeds maxing at 4.9 GHz for the P-core boost, is poised to be a smart choice for those seeking efficiency over raw power.
