Polaroid’s New Pikachu Instant Camera Brings Pokémon Nostalgia for $99.99

Polaroid and Pokémon Team Up for Limited-Edition Instant Cameras, Film, and Accessories

Polaroid and The Pokémon Company are celebrating Pokémon’s 30th anniversary with a new limited-edition instant photography collection designed for fans, collectors, and anyone who loves physical prints. The nine-piece lineup includes three instant cameras, three themed film packs, and three accessories inspired by some of the franchise’s most recognizable designs.

The collection centers on three Pokémon themes: Poké Ball, Pikachu, and Sylveon. Pre-orders are set to begin on August 25 through Polaroid’s official online store and Pokémon Center in the United States, United Kingdom, and Canada. A wider release is planned for October 5, but Polaroid has confirmed that the collection will be produced in limited quantities.

The standout model is the Polaroid Now Camera Generation 3 Pokémon Edition, which features the classic red, white, and black colors of a Poké Ball. Priced at $139.99, it uses full-size Polaroid i-Type film and offers the same core features as the standard Now Gen 3 model.

For fans looking for something smaller, Polaroid is also releasing two Pokémon-themed versions of the compact Polaroid Go Camera Generation 3. One arrives in Pikachu’s signature yellow, while the other takes inspiration from Sylveon with a pink, white, and blue color scheme. Each Polaroid Go Pokémon camera is priced at $99.99.

Although the designs are new, the cameras themselves use Polaroid’s existing instant camera hardware. That means buyers can expect the same lens system, flash performance, and film handling found in the regular Now Gen 3 and Go Gen 3 models. The main appeal here is the collectible Pokémon styling and matching accessories.

The themed film packs add even more personality to the release. Instead of placing Pokémon artwork only on the camera body, Polaroid has added character-themed designs around the photo frames. The collection includes Color i-Type Film Pokémon Edition for the larger Now camera, along with Pikachu and Sylveon double packs for the smaller Go format.

The full camera lineup includes the Polaroid Now Camera Generation 3 Pokémon Edition in Poké Ball colors for $139.99, the Polaroid Go Camera Generation 3 Pikachu Edition for $99.99, and the Polaroid Go Camera Generation 3 Sylveon Edition for $99.99.

The film lineup includes Polaroid Color i-Type Film Pokémon Edition for $22.99, Polaroid Go Color Film Pikachu Edition double pack for $24.99, and Polaroid Go Color Film Sylveon Edition double pack for $24.99.

The accessory lineup includes a Polaroid Go Camera Case Pokémon Edition for $24.99, a Polaroid Go Photo Album Pokémon Edition for $24.99, and a Polaroid Camera Strap Pokémon Edition for $14.99. The strap is compatible with both camera sizes, making it a practical add-on for anyone planning to use the cameras regularly rather than keeping them purely as collectibles.

This collaboration arrives at a time when instant photography is enjoying renewed popularity. Younger buyers in particular have shown growing interest in retro-style devices, film cameras, point-and-shoot cameras, and other physical media formats. While smartphones dominate everyday photography, instant cameras offer something different: a real print you can hold, display, trade, or keep as a memory.

For Pokémon fans, the appeal is even stronger. The collection combines nostalgia, collectible design, and the fun of instant photography in one release. Whether it’s the Poké Ball-inspired Polaroid Now, the bright Pikachu Polaroid Go, or the pastel Sylveon version, the lineup is clearly designed to stand out on a shelf and in everyday use.

With pre-orders opening August 25 and the full launch scheduled for October 5, this limited-edition Polaroid Pokémon collection is likely to attract both instant camera fans and longtime Pokémon collectors. Since quantities will be limited, interested buyers may want to act quickly once pre-orders begin.
