Casio’s Poké Ball G-Shock Is the Pokémon Watch Collectors Will Battle to Catch

Casio Unveils Limited-Edition Pokémon 30th Anniversary G-Shock With Poké Ball Packaging

Casio has officially revealed a new limited-edition Pokémon G-Shock created to celebrate the franchise’s 30th anniversary, and it is loaded with nostalgic details for longtime fans. The watch blends the rugged style of the G-Shock GA-110 with playful Pokémon-inspired design touches, including a translucent case, a Poké Ball-themed dial, and a strap decorated with 30 different Pokémon.

Unlike earlier Pokémon watch collaborations that used smaller models, this release is based on the larger GA-110 silhouette. That gives the design a bold, oversized look while still keeping the fun collector-focused personality that fans expect from a special anniversary item.

The watch features a clear resin case and band, giving it a modern transparent appearance. Casio adds bright red, green, and blue accents across the dial, bezel, buttons, and hands, paying tribute to the original Pokémon games from 1996. These color choices are one of the biggest nostalgic highlights of the design, especially for fans who grew up with the first generation of Pokémon titles.

One of the standout details is the inset dial at the 9 o’clock position, which is styled to resemble a Poké Ball. Casio also included a small indicator hand shaped like Pikachu from behind, adding a subtle but charming touch that collectors will appreciate.

The strap is another major part of the anniversary theme. It features illustrations of 30 Pokémon in total, representing the franchise’s 30-year history. The lineup includes starter Pokémon from each mainline generation, from Kanto through Paldea, along with fan favorites Pikachu and Eevee.

Mew also appears on the translucent band keeper, while the stainless steel buckle carries G-Shock branding. On the back of the case, Casio has engraved a special Pokémon 30th anniversary logo, making the watch feel even more like a true collector’s edition.

The packaging is just as eye-catching as the watch itself. The limited-edition Pokémon G-Shock comes in a Poké Ball-shaped display case, placed inside a custom outer box decorated with all 30 featured Pokémon. For collectors, this presentation may be one of the biggest reasons to chase the release.

Getting one may not be easy. In Japan, the watch will be offered through a lottery-based pre-order system, which suggests demand is expected to be extremely high. In the United States, buyers will not need to enter a lottery, but limited stock means the watch could sell out quickly once pre-orders begin.

The Pokémon x G-Shock GA-110PKM-7A is priced at $270 in the United States and ¥33,000 in Japan. US pre-orders are scheduled to begin on Wednesday, July 1. In Japan, lottery applications will run from July 1 through July 6, with the official release planned for July 17.

Casio has not yet confirmed whether the Pokémon 30th anniversary G-Shock will be released in additional regions such as the UK or Europe.

Specifications include a resin case and bezel, a clear resin band with 30 Pokémon illustrations, mineral glass, 200-meter water resistance, shock resistance, and magnetic resistance. The watch uses a CR1220 battery with an estimated life of about two years and fits wrists from 145 mm to 215 mm.

It also includes world time across 29 time zones, a 1/1000-second stopwatch with speed measurement, a 24-hour countdown timer, five daily alarms including one snooze alarm, an amber LED backlight with afterglow, and a full auto-calendar through 2099. Accuracy is rated at approximately ±15 seconds per month.

With its retro game-inspired colors, Poké Ball details, 30-Pokémon strap design, Mew accent, engraved anniversary case back, and collectible packaging, this limited-edition Casio G-Shock is clearly aimed at both watch fans and Pokémon collectors. Given the popularity of both brands, it is likely to become one of the most sought-after Pokémon anniversary collectibles of the year.
