One-Netbook is doubling down on bold handheld ideas, and its latest reveal could be a big deal for retro gaming fans who want true portability. The company has teased the ONEXSUGAR Wallet, a clamshell-style Android gaming handheld built around a foldable OLED panel. What makes it stand out is that it appears to use a single, continuous bendable display in a compact form factor, rather than two separate screens. For players who love Nintendo DS and 3DS emulation, that design choice could deliver a more seamless “dual-screen” feel without an oversized device in your pocket.
In a short showcase video titled “Redefine ‘Portability!’ The ONEXSUGAR Wallet foldable screen is about to be released,” the device is shown as what looks like a working unit, not just a concept render. The clamshell opens to reveal a large 8.01-inch OLED screen with a 2480 x 1861 resolution and a 4:3 aspect ratio—an especially appealing match for classic games and retro emulation. The taller 4:3 layout also lends itself well to DS and 3DS gameplay, where screen placement and vertical space matter. Instead of dealing with the distracting gap that comes from two separate panels, players could potentially run both “screens” on one uninterrupted display.
Visually, the ONEXSUGAR Wallet takes cues from modern foldable devices, borrowing the pocket-friendly clamshell approach that has proven popular in foldable phones. The key difference here is that it’s purpose-built for gaming. Alongside the foldable screen, it includes dedicated controls: a traditional D-pad, face buttons, slim dual analog sticks, shoulder buttons, and an overall layout that looks designed for long sessions—not just quick taps.
Portability is clearly the main selling point. Compared to larger handhelds, a clamshell design lets the device fold down to a much smaller footprint when closed, making it easier to carry day-to-day. If One-Netbook manages to balance size, ergonomics, and screen durability, the ONEXSUGAR Wallet could appeal to players who want something closer to “take-anywhere” than “carry in a bag.”
That durability question is the big unknown right now. Any foldable screen raises concerns about hinge longevity, crease wear, and the kind of dust or lint buildup that has affected foldable phones over time. The ONEXSUGAR Wallet appears to use an inset hinge design, which may help reduce exposure and improve reliability, but real-world performance will matter more than a teaser video.
One-Netbook has already earned attention for taking risks and stepping away from the familiar Game Boy-style look that dominates much of the retro handheld market. With the ONEXSUGAR Wallet, the company is pushing even further by combining a large OLED panel, a compact clamshell body, and a continuous foldable display—exactly the kind of feature set that could quickly win over DS and 3DS enthusiasts looking for a cleaner, more immersive emulation setup.
For now, the company is framing the handheld as “Coming Soon 2026.” If that window holds, a release could land sometime in summer or fall of 2026, and there’s a good chance demand will be strong if the final product delivers on the promise of pocketable foldable gaming without the usual compromises.
