OnePlus is gearing up for a busy launch season, with multiple new phones aimed at people who want strong performance without paying flagship prices. The company has confirmed that the gaming-focused OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra will debut in China on April 28. For India, OnePlus is preparing to introduce two new Nord models: the OnePlus Nord CE6 and the OnePlus Nord CE6 Lite, both officially set to launch on May 7.
OnePlus Nord CE6: display upgrades, big battery, and serious durability
The OnePlus Nord CE6 is positioned as the more feature-packed option of the two. Design-wise, it adopts a square-shaped camera module that closely resembles the look of the standard Nord 6, giving it a modern, familiar Nord-style identity.
On the front, OnePlus has confirmed an AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution and a fast 144Hz refresh rate, a combination that should appeal to users who prioritize smooth scrolling, responsive gaming, and sharper visuals. The panel is also rated for up to 1,800 nits peak brightness, helping visibility in bright outdoor conditions. For eye comfort, it includes 3,840Hz PWM dimming, which is often highlighted as a benefit for reducing flicker under low brightness.
Powering the Nord CE6 is the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor, paired with an in-house Touch Reflex Chip. The phone has also appeared on Geekbench, offering an early look at its CPU performance ahead of launch.
Battery is another major talking point. The Nord CE6 is confirmed to pack an 8,000mAh battery, which is notably larger than many higher-priced phones. It also supports 27W reverse wired charging, allowing the phone to charge other compatible devices with a cable when needed. For comparison, OnePlus’ flagship OnePlus 15 features a 7,300mAh battery, making the Nord CE6’s capacity especially attention-grabbing for heavy users.
OnePlus is also emphasizing toughness. The Nord CE6 carries IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance, suggesting a strong focus on protection in challenging environments.
OnePlus Nord CE6 Lite: a cheaper option with a high-refresh display and strong benchmark claims
For buyers looking to spend less, the OnePlus Nord CE6 Lite is confirmed as a more affordable alternative to the Nord CE6. OnePlus has still kept performance and smoothness in focus, confirming a 144Hz display for the Lite model as well.
Under the hood, it uses the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Apex chipset. The company claims the Nord CE6 Lite scores more than 1.03 million points on AnTuTu, a figure aimed at highlighting its performance value in the budget-to-midrange space.
It also comes with a large 7,000mAh battery, making it another option for users who care more about endurance than ultra-thin design.
India launch date and expected pricing range
The OnePlus Nord CE6 and OnePlus Nord CE6 Lite are officially scheduled to launch in India on May 7. OnePlus hasn’t confirmed pricing yet, but for reference, the previous-generation OnePlus Nord CE5 launched in India starting at INR 24,999 (around $268). That context suggests OnePlus may again target aggressive pricing to compete in the crowded affordable and midrange smartphone market.
With a 1.5K 144Hz AMOLED display, an 8,000mAh battery, and advanced IP ratings, the Nord CE6 is shaping up to be a spec-heavy contender. Meanwhile, the Nord CE6 Lite aims to bring a high-refresh experience and big-battery appeal at a lower cost—setting up an interesting choice for Indian buyers when both phones arrive in May.
