OnePlus Fixes OxygenOS Bootloop Bug and Restarts Updates for OnePlus 15, 13 Series, and Nord CE6

OnePlus Resumes OxygenOS 16 Rollout After Fixing Boot Loop Issue

OnePlus has restarted the rollout of its latest OxygenOS 16 updates after temporarily pausing the release due to reports of boot loop problems and unexpected restarts on some devices. The company says it has now identified and fixed the issue that affected select builds, allowing the update process to continue for several OnePlus phones.

The affected software versions included OxygenOS 16.0.7.xxx and 16.0.5.xxx. After users reported abnormal restarts and boot issues, OnePlus halted the rollout as a precaution. The pause affected updates for several models, including the OnePlus 15, OnePlus 13, OnePlus 13S, OnePlus 12R, Nord CE6, and Nord CE6 Lite.

The company has now confirmed that the bug has been resolved and that the rollout is back underway. As usual, the update is being released in stages, meaning not every user will receive it immediately.

The May OxygenOS update rollout originally began with the OnePlus 15 and Nord CE6, which started receiving new OxygenOS 16-based builds in small batches on May 11. A few days later, the OnePlus 12R, Nord CE6 Lite, OnePlus 13, and OnePlus 13S joined the update schedule. However, after a small number of users experienced boot-related issues, OnePlus temporarily stopped the release on May 15.

By May 18, OnePlus announced that the problem had been successfully identified and fixed. The updated builds are now rolling out again to eligible devices.

For owners of the OnePlus 15, OnePlus 13, and OnePlus 13S, this update is more than just a bug-fix release. It brings a wide range of improvements designed to make the phones feel smoother, smarter, and more polished in daily use.

One of the biggest changes comes from the new Luminous Rendering Engine, combined with upgrades to the Trinity Engine. These improvements are designed to enhance system fluidity, making animations feel more responsive across the interface. Users should notice smoother transitions when opening floating windows, pulling down the notification shade, using Quick Settings, and scrolling through apps.

The update also adds several AI-powered features. One of the most practical additions is an offline translation tool that can help translate foreign restaurant menus. It can also detect useful details such as currency conversions and allergens, making it especially helpful for travelers.

Another useful upgrade is the improved document scanner. It now supports automatic saving and handwriting recognition, making it easier to scan notes, forms, receipts, and other documents directly from the phone.

The lock screen has also received a refreshed design. OnePlus is introducing a dual-mode layout with notification capsules that are designed to avoid covering the wallpaper. This gives the lock screen a cleaner look while keeping important alerts easy to access. There is also a new app organization layout that lets users arrange apps by color, adding a more visual and personalized way to manage the home screen.

Camera improvements are part of the update as well. The OnePlus 15, OnePlus 13, and OnePlus 13S receive new Camera Master presets, along with refreshed camera interface elements. These changes should make the camera app feel more refined and easier to use.

Battery usage statistics have also been improved, giving users a clearer view of how power is being consumed throughout the day. The update includes the May 2026 Android security patch, helping improve overall device security.

For Nord CE6 and Nord CE6 Lite users, the update is more focused on reliability and performance rather than major new features. These devices receive improvements to camera preview quality, better network stability, and smoother gaming performance at higher frame rates. While it may not be a major visual overhaul, the update should help the phones feel more dependable in everyday use.

The OnePlus 12R update is more limited. For this model, the main addition is the May 2026 Android security patch. Although it does not bring the same feature-packed experience seen on the OnePlus 15 and OnePlus 13 series, it remains an important update for security and system protection.

The resumed OxygenOS rollout is currently live in India for the OnePlus 13, OnePlus 13S, Nord CE6, Nord CE6 Lite, and OnePlus 12R. The OnePlus 15 update is rolling out globally. Other regions are expected to receive the updates soon.

Since OnePlus is using a phased rollout strategy, availability may vary depending on region, carrier, and device model. If the update has not appeared on your phone yet, it may take a few days before it becomes available.

Users can check manually by opening the Settings app, going to the system update section, and looking for the latest OxygenOS version. Before installing, it is recommended to back up important data, ensure the phone has enough battery, and connect to a stable Wi-Fi network.

With the boot loop issue now fixed, the latest OxygenOS 16 rollout should bring a more stable and refined experience to supported OnePlus devices. For flagship users, the update adds meaningful upgrades to animations, AI tools, camera features, and lock screen customization. For Nord and OnePlus 12R users, the focus is on stability, performance, and security.
