OnePlus Unveils a Budget-Friendly Smartphone Featuring a Smooth 144Hz Display

OnePlus is expanding its Nord lineup in India with the newly launched OnePlus Nord CE6 Lite, arriving shortly after the debut of the company’s flagship OnePlus Pad 4. Positioned as a budget-friendly alternative to the Nord CE6, the Nord CE6 Lite targets buyers who want a fast display, a big battery, and modern software without paying flagship prices.

A major selling point is the 6.72-inch LCD display, featuring a 1,080 x 2,400 resolution and a super-smooth 144Hz refresh rate. OnePlus also lists 800 nits of typical brightness, which should help with visibility in brighter environments and everyday outdoor use.

Powering the phone is the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Apex chipset with 5G support. OnePlus claims the Nord CE6 Lite can achieve an AnTuTu score of over 1.03 million, positioning it as a strong performer in its price bracket for day-to-day multitasking, gaming, and app switching. It comes with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage, and if you need more space, there’s microSD expansion support up to 2TB.

For cameras, the Nord CE6 Lite includes a 50MP main rear camera and an 8MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls. A notable extra at this price is 4K video recording at 30fps on the rear camera, giving users a higher-resolution option for capturing travel clips and family moments.

Battery life is another headline feature. The phone packs a large 7,000mAh battery paired with 45W fast charging, aiming to deliver long endurance with quicker top-ups when needed. On the software side, it launches with OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16 right out of the box. One omission to note is that the phone does not include NFC, which may matter if you rely on tap-to-pay or quick pairing features.

In India, the OnePlus Nord CE6 Lite is offered in three variants: 6GB RAM with 128GB storage for INR 20,999, 8GB RAM with 128GB storage for INR 22,999, and 8GB RAM with 256GB storage for INR 25,999. Color options include Hyper Black and Vivid Mint. Sales begin May 12 in India, and OnePlus has not yet confirmed availability for other regions.
