Oppo is creating a buzz with its upcoming release, the Find N5, which is anticipated to be rebranded as the OnePlus Open 2 in selected markets. This new foldable sensation is making waves as it claims to be the thinnest of its kind. As anticipation builds, Oppo has spilled the beans on its sleek design, revealing that the device will be 8.93 mm thick when folded.
Scheduled for unveiling on February 20, Oppo’s Find N5 is set to turn heads with its slim profile, even outdoing the Honor Magic V3, which stands at 9.22 mm when closed. However, there’s a catch: the Twilight Purple variant will have a slight increase in thickness, measuring 9.35 mm, while the Jade White and Satin Black versions retain the slimmer build. The reason behind this slight discrepancy remains a mystery.
The highlight of the Find N5 is its innovative hinge system. Oppo promises a “worry-free” folding experience, with assurances that the device will endure up to a decade of use. The “titanium alloy sky hinge” boasts a “five-spring four-wheel drive,” a feature touted as a first in the industry, designed to minimize the crease on the inner display. The technology aims to reduce the crease angle to below 2.5° and maintain the depth under 0.15 mm, ensuring an almost seamless viewing experience.
Beyond its sophisticated hinge, the Find N5 is packed with features. It boasts “full-level waterproof” certification, a sturdy titanium alloy frame, and is powered by the impressive Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, paired with Hasselblad cameras, promising stellar performance. As the release draws near, tech enthusiasts are eagerly waiting to see how the Find N5, or OnePlus Open 2, will measure up against competitors like the Galaxy Z Fold 6, especially in terms of pricing and performance.
