OnePlus is gearing up to launch its next pair of true wireless earbuds, the OnePlus Nord Buds 4 Pro, on March 19. While the full spec sheet still hasn’t been revealed, the company has already teased several major upgrades, giving fans a clear idea of what to expect from the new Nord Buds generation.
The Nord Buds 4 Pro arrive almost two years after the Nord Buds 3 Pro, and the first big change is the design. OnePlus is sticking with an in-ear fit, but the earbuds themselves look noticeably refreshed. The stems now appear to have a more uniform thickness from top to bottom, and the touch-control area has been reworked too. Instead of a shorter groove, the new touch zone stretches across a larger portion of the stem—roughly 40%—which should make playback, calls, and other controls easier to access.
The charging case also gets a dramatic makeover. The previous oval-shaped case is gone, replaced by a more squared-off “squircle” design. It still opens via a flip-top lid and holds the earbuds vertically inside, but the new shape should be easier to pocket and less likely to roll off a table. Based on the promotional images, the Nord Buds 4 Pro will be offered in black and white color options.
On the performance side, OnePlus is highlighting improvements that will matter to anyone shopping for the best wireless earbuds for commuting, workouts, or everyday listening. The Nord Buds 4 Pro feature 12mm titanium-coated drivers, a spec that typically points to clearer detail and punchier bass when tuned well.
Active noise cancellation is also getting a substantial bump. OnePlus says the Nord Buds 4 Pro can deliver up to 55dB ANC, an upgrade over the previous generation’s 49dB. In real-world use, stronger ANC can make a big difference in louder environments like public transport, busy streets, or open offices.
For audio quality and compatibility, OnePlus is adding support for Hi-Res Audio Wireless and the LHDC codec. That’s a notable step up from the Nord Buds 3 Pro, which were limited to the more basic AAC and SBC codecs. If you use a compatible phone and high-quality audio sources, LHDC can help deliver higher-bitrate wireless sound for a more detailed listening experience.
The feature list continues with 3D Spatial Audio and a Game Sound Spatial Audio mode, suggesting OnePlus is aiming at both movie watchers and mobile gamers who want wider, more immersive sound. For calls, the Nord Buds 4 Pro include six microphones in total and use AI-powered noise reduction to improve voice clarity, especially when you’re speaking in windy or noisy conditions.
There’s still plenty OnePlus hasn’t confirmed yet—battery life, charging speeds, water resistance, pricing, and availability are all details shoppers will want before deciding. For now, the Nord Buds 4 Pro are shaping up to be a meaningful refresh, with a new design, stronger noise cancellation, upgraded wireless audio support, and more advanced features for calls and gaming—all set to be fully unveiled on March 19.
