OnePlus looks ready to expand its flagship lineup again, with the OnePlus 15T widely expected to arrive soon. While the company still hasn’t locked in an official launch announcement, Li Jie Louis, OnePlus’ president, has been steadily teasing this upcoming compact flagship for weeks. Now, a fresh round of hints has revealed one of the biggest upgrades yet: durability.
According to Louis, the OnePlus 15T is shaping up to feature a “full range” of waterproof ratings. In his teaser, he specifically name-dropped IP69K, IP69, IP68, and IP66. If this holds true, it would be a major leap over the previous generation’s protection, which topped out at IP65. For buyers who want a smaller high-end phone without sacrificing toughness, those potential ingress protection ratings could make the OnePlus 15T a much more compelling option in the compact flagship category.
The new tease also addresses the growing buzz around the OnePlus 15T design. A supposed leak making the rounds on Chinese social platforms shows a OnePlus phone with a large rectangular camera island. Louis directly pushed back on that image, saying it doesn’t reflect the real OnePlus 15T and adding that the actual device “looks even better.” That statement will likely fuel even more speculation, especially among fans hoping for a cleaner, more refined camera layout.
Even without final design confirmation, OnePlus has already offered a small look at the front of the phone in an earlier teaser. That preview suggests the OnePlus 15T will feature slim bezels on all sides, a detail that can make a compact phone feel more premium and immersive. OnePlus even compared the bottom bezel to the iPhone 17 Pro in the shared image, highlighting a noticeable difference in chin size.
On the performance side, the OnePlus 15T is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, positioning it firmly in flagship territory. The device has also appeared in the AnTuTu database, which reinforces the expectation that OnePlus is aiming for top-tier speed and efficiency in a smaller form factor.
Camera improvements may be on the way too. In addition to the waterproofing talk and design comments, Louis has recently hinted that the OnePlus 15T will bring upgrades in the camera department. While specifics haven’t been shared yet, the mention suggests OnePlus is looking to strengthen photography alongside performance and durability—three areas that matter most to flagship shoppers.
With more teasers expected soon, the OnePlus 15T is quickly becoming one of the most interesting upcoming compact flagship phones, especially for people who want high-end power, stronger water resistance, and a modern all-screen look without going oversized.
