OnePlus 15T Unveiled: First Official Look at the New Compact Flagship

OnePlus has officially shared the first look at its upcoming OnePlus 15T, a new compact flagship expected to launch in March for the China market. Early rumors hinted at a bold redesign with a large rectangular camera bump, but the newly released official images point in a different direction. Instead, the OnePlus 15T sticks closely to the brand’s familiar styling and looks much more like its predecessor than the leaks suggested.

From the images, the OnePlus 15T features a “squircle” camera module on the back and a dual-camera setup. The phone is shown in two color options, brown and green. While OnePlus has confirmed the device is coming in March in China, the company hasn’t locked in an exact launch date yet, and there’s still no confirmation about whether the OnePlus 15T will be released globally.

Even before the official unveiling event, OnePlus has already highlighted several key specs. The OnePlus 15T is built around a 6.3-inch flat display with rounded corners, aiming for a smaller, easier-to-handle form factor while still targeting flagship-level performance. Although OnePlus hasn’t confirmed the refresh rate, reports suggest it could match the standard OnePlus 15 with a fast 165Hz panel, which would make the 15T especially appealing to gamers and anyone who values ultra-smooth scrolling and animations.

Camera-wise, OnePlus is leaning into zoom capabilities by including a periscope telephoto lens that delivers 3.5x optical zoom. That’s a notable feature for a compact flagship phone, where internal space is often at a premium and zoom lenses can be harder to fit.

Performance details haven’t been officially announced by OnePlus yet, but a recent benchmark listing indicates the OnePlus 15T may run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. If accurate, that would place it firmly in top-tier territory for speed, multitasking, and efficiency.

Battery is another area where the OnePlus 15T aims to stand out. Despite its compact positioning, it’s said to pack a large 7,500mAh battery, along with 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. If these specs hold true in real-world use, the OnePlus 15T could offer a rare mix: small size without sacrificing battery life.

Durability and security features are also a major theme. The device is listed with multiple water and dust resistance ratings, including IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K certifications, suggesting strong protection across a range of conditions. It also includes an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, which is typically faster and more reliable than optical in-display scanners, particularly when fingers are damp.

With its compact 6.3-inch display, periscope zoom, big battery, fast charging, and high-end durability ratings, the OnePlus 15T is shaping up to be a serious option for buyers who want a smaller flagship phone without major compromises. For now, all eyes are on OnePlus’ March launch plans for China—and whether a wider release will follow.
