OnePlus is steadily building hype for its next compact flagship, the OnePlus 15T, and the latest teaser puts the spotlight on what could be its biggest selling point: battery life. After briefly showing off the phone’s slim display bezels, OnePlus has now revealed a major upgrade that could set the 15T apart from other small premium phones.
According to a post shared by OnePlus China President Li Jie Louis on Weibo, the OnePlus 15T will come with a massive 7,500mAh battery. That’s a striking figure for a compact device and instantly positions the 15T as one of the most endurance-focused flagships in its size class. Even better, it won’t take forever to top up. The phone is said to support 100W wired fast charging and 50W wireless fast charging, giving it both speed and convenience for daily use.
OnePlus is also bringing a feature that power users have been asking for: bypass charging. With bypass charging, the phone can draw power directly from the charger instead of routing it through the battery. This can help reduce heat buildup and battery strain during demanding tasks like long gaming sessions, extended video recording, or heavy multitasking while plugged in.
What makes the 7,500mAh claim even more impressive is how it compares to other current 6.3-inch flagship-style phones. Devices such as the Xiaomi 17 Pro and Vivo X300 reportedly use 6,300mAh and 6,040mAh batteries, respectively. In other words, the OnePlus 15T is expected to deliver a noticeable jump in capacity without moving up in size.
Perhaps the most surprising comparison is closer to home. The battery in the OnePlus 15T is said to be larger than the 7,300mAh unit inside the standard OnePlus 15, even though the OnePlus 15 is believed to feature a bigger 6.78-inch display. If this holds true, OnePlus may be positioning the 15T as the better choice for buyers who want flagship performance in a smaller form factor without sacrificing longevity.
While OnePlus hasn’t confirmed an exact launch date, rumors point to a March release in China. Specs circulating from leaks suggest the OnePlus 15T may feature a 6.3-inch display with a 1.5K resolution and a super-smooth 165Hz refresh rate. Camera expectations currently include a 50MP dual rear setup, along with an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner for faster and more reliable unlocking.
Performance should also be top-tier. An AnTuTu listing suggests the OnePlus 15T will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, which would place it firmly in flagship territory for speed, efficiency, and gaming.
If these details are accurate, the OnePlus 15T could become one of the most compelling compact flagship phones of the year, combining a smaller screen size with an unusually large battery, very fast charging, and high-end internals. As more official teasers drop, the phone’s full feature set and release plans should become clearer.
