OnePlus 15T Leak Hints at a Step Back in Display Quality

The OnePlus 15T is almost here, and a fresh specifications leak is painting a clearer picture of what to expect from OnePlus’ next compact flagship. Set to launch on March 24 in China, the OnePlus 15T looks like a meaningful upgrade over last year’s OnePlus 13T in performance, cameras, and charging—though there’s one notable compromise that shoppers should know about: the display technology.

According to the latest details, the OnePlus 15T will stick with a 6.32-inch screen size, continuing the smaller, easier-to-handle form factor that made its predecessor appealing. However, the panel is said to shift from LTPO to LTPS. That change matters because LTPO displays are typically more power-efficient and better at adapting refresh rates to save battery. LTPS is generally cheaper and can consume more power in certain scenarios, which may disappoint buyers hoping for top-tier display efficiency in a premium phone.

Still, the screen isn’t without improvements. The OnePlus 15T reportedly features a sharp 1.5K resolution and extremely slim 1.1mm bezels for a more immersive look. It’s also expected to jump to a 165Hz refresh rate, up from 120Hz on the OnePlus 13T, which should make scrolling, animations, and high-frame-rate gaming feel even smoother.

On the performance side, the OnePlus 15T is tipped to run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, matching the chipset used in the larger OnePlus 15. That suggests OnePlus isn’t treating the 15T as a “lite” model when it comes to raw speed, with flagship-grade processing power likely aimed at heavy multitasking, demanding apps, and sustained gaming performance.

Camera specs also look competitive for a compact flagship. The phone is said to include a 16MP front camera, while the rear setup features two 50MP cameras with optical image stabilization. The main camera reportedly uses a 1/1.56-inch sensor, while the second camera is a periscope telephoto offering 3.5x optical zoom—an especially attractive spec in a smaller phone, since periscope zoom lenses are often reserved for larger models.

Battery and charging could be one of the OnePlus 15T’s biggest selling points. The leak claims a huge 7,500mAh battery, a major leap over the 6,260mAh capacity in the OnePlus 13T. Charging is expected to improve too, with 100W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging. That’s a significant step up from the previous model’s 80W wired charging and lack of wireless charging support, and it positions the OnePlus 15T as a compact phone that doesn’t compromise on convenience.

Other reported features round out an impressively premium package: a metal frame with glass on both sides, a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, an x-axis vibration motor for better haptics, and a serious set of durability ratings including IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K. The trade-off is a slight weight increase, with the OnePlus 15T said to weigh 194 grams compared to the OnePlus 13T’s 185 grams.

Software is expected to be ColorOS 16 with a bundle of AI features, at least for the China release. For now, though, there’s no confirmation of an international launch, so global buyers may have to wait for official word from OnePlus.

With a compact 6.32-inch size, top-tier Snapdragon chipset, big battery, fast wired and wireless charging, and a periscope zoom camera, the OnePlus 15T is shaping up to be one of the most interesting smaller flagships of 2026—even if the move to an LTPS display raises questions about efficiency compared to its predecessor.
