Oblivion Remastered Locks In Its Long-Awaited Switch 2 Launch Date

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered Lands on Nintendo Switch 2 This August

Nintendo Switch 2 owners finally have a date to circle on the calendar: The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is coming to the console on August 11. Bethesda has confirmed the release window for one of the most anticipated third-party additions to the Switch 2 lineup, giving fans a clear answer after the game was previously announced for a 2026 launch without an exact date.

The arrival of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered on Nintendo Switch 2 is a major win for players who want to experience the classic open-world RPG on Nintendo’s newer hardware. Oblivion remains one of the most beloved entries in the Elder Scrolls series, known for its massive fantasy world, deep questlines, character freedom, and memorable expansions.

Bethesda revealed the Switch 2 release date through a lighthearted video announcement. However, the Nintendo Store has not yet been updated with full purchase details. That means pricing, pre-order availability, and regional store information are still unknown for now.

The game will be available in two versions: a Standard Edition and a Deluxe Edition.

The Standard Edition will be offered as a digital code and includes the full base game, along with the Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine story expansions. It also comes packed with additional downloadable content, including Fighter’s Stronghold, Spell Tomes, Vile Lair, Mehrune’s Razor, The Thieves Den, Wizard’s Tower, The Orrery, and the Horse Armor Pack.

The Deluxe Edition will be available in both physical and digital formats. The physical version includes a cartridge containing the full base game, while the digital version includes the digital base game. Like the Standard Edition, it features the Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine expansions, plus all of the extra downloadable content listed above.

Players who choose the Deluxe Edition will also receive a code for exclusive digital items, including Akatosh and Mehrunes Dagon armor sets, weapons, and horse armor sets.

With its August 11 release date now confirmed, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is set to strengthen the Nintendo Switch 2’s growing catalog of major third-party games. For longtime fans, it is a chance to return to Cyrodiil with modern updates. For newcomers, it could be the perfect opportunity to discover one of the most influential fantasy RPGs ever made.
