Samsung Foundry Gains Momentum as Nvidia Groq 3 Boosts 4nm Chip Production
Samsung Electronics’ foundry business is seeing a notable lift as Nvidia’s Groq 3 production ramp adds fresh demand to its advanced 4nm manufacturing line. The increased activity is becoming a meaningful source of volume for Samsung Foundry at a time when competition in high-performance chip manufacturing remains intense.
Current estimates suggest that Nvidia-related Groq 3 wafer input at Samsung’s 4nm facilities is now around 10,000 wafers per month. That figure is expected to climb further, potentially rising above 15,000 wafers per month in 2027 as production scales and demand for advanced computing hardware continues to grow.
The timing is important for Samsung. The company has been working to strengthen its foundry position in advanced process nodes, where customers require better performance, power efficiency, and reliable production capacity. A higher wafer volume from a major chip customer gives Samsung a stronger foundation to improve utilization rates and expand its presence in the advanced semiconductor market.
