In the realm of rugged computing, Durabook’s latest slate computers, the U11I-EX and R8-EX, have made their debut as powerful Windows 11 tablets engineered for extreme and potentially explosive environments. These devices adhere to the demanding standards of MIL-STD-810H and IP66, ensuring protection against falls from up to 6 feet and keeping out harmful dust, water, and dirt.
Setting them apart from their predecessors, the U11I-EX and R8-EX carry the ATEX certification for “Zone 2/22”, allowing them to operate safely even where explosive gases, vapors, or dust may be present. This makes them an invaluable asset for critical sectors such as the oil, gas, and pharmaceutical industries.
Beyond their robust safety features, these tablets offer the convenience of Durabook’s proprietary DynaVue display technology, enhancing screen clarity and responsiveness whether being used with gloves, damp hands, or stylus pens. The R8-EX features an 8-inch display while the U11I-EX boasts a larger 11.6-inch screen.
Both devices are powered by the latest 12th-gen Intel processors. They are equipped with the latest technology including Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi 6E, and Thunderbolt 4 ports, along with optional 4G/LTE connectivity, and the U11I-EX also offers select models with 5G capability. To ensure uninterrupted use, the tablets incorporate Coolfinity fanless cooling technology and support swappable batteries.
Users have the option to choose between standard and extended-capacity batteries. The R8-EX can deliver up to 8.5 or 17 hours of use per charge, while the U11I-EX battery life ranges from 10 to 20 hours, ensuring that users remain productive through long shifts.
The new Durabook tablets are now available for purchase, and pricing details can be obtained directly from the manufacturer. These rugged and versatile tablets are designed to meet the demands of various tough industrial applications while offering the convenience and capabilities of the latest technology.
