MSI has introduced the MPG 491CQP QD-OLED, a massive 49-inch curved gaming monitor that’s bound to capture the attention of gaming enthusiasts. First teased in November 2023, this model was also part of the brand’s CES 2024 lineup, which included a range of state-of-the-art gaming monitors.
The impressive MPG 491CQP QD-OLED stands out with its expansive 49-inch display, providing a Dual Quad High-Definition resolution of 5,120 x 1,440 pixels. This equates to a super ultrawide 32:9 aspect ratio complemented by a 1800R curvature, designed for immersive gaming experiences. A high refresh rate of 144 Hz ensures smooth motion, and the monitor is also VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certified for superior contrast and color accuracy.
In terms of connectivity, the monitor is equipped with multiple video ports and a built-in USB hub, catering to various input requirements.
While MSI has yet to disclose any international release details, the monitor has made its debut in the Chinese market. It arrives amidst competition from the RedMagic Realm, another 49-inch QD-OLED gaming monitor featuring a higher 240 Hz refresh rate. Nonetheless, the MPG 491CQP QD-OLED is priced lower, indicating MSI’s competitive positioning in the market.
Gaming fans around the world are eagerly awaiting further news on global availability. As of now, the monitor’s launch outside China has not been specified, but MSI plans to roll it out in other markets in the near future. With excitement building for its eventual worldwide release, gamers are looking forward to the chance to upgrade their setups with MSI’s latest offering in cutting-edge gaming technology.
