MSI Introduces Six QD-OLED Gaming Monitors at CES 2024

MSI has captivated gaming enthusiasts at CES 2024 by revealing a series of six new gaming monitors that incorporate QD-OLED panels sourced from Samsung Display. The span of models—MAG 271QPX, MPG 271QRX, MAG 321UPX, MPG 321URX, MAG 341CQP, and MPG 491CQP—demonstrate the brand’s commitment to cutting-edge display technology and gaming performance. Here’s what we know about these innovative monitors, their features, pricing, and availability.

MSI MAG 271QPX and MPG 271QRX Monitors

The MSI MAG 271QPX and MPG 271QRX are the most compact offerings in the lineup, boasting a 26.5-inch QD-OLED panel with a WQHD resolution, a remarkable 360Hz refresh rate, and a near-instantaneous response time of 0.03 ms. These monitors offer a typical brightness of 250 nits and excellent color fidelity with 99% DCI-P3 coverage. Certified with VESA Adaptive-Sync and DisplayHDR True Black 400, they promise an immersive gaming experience.

Distinctive features between the two models include the MAG 271QPX’s 15W USB Type-C Power Delivery, contrasting with the MPG 271QRX’s 90W capability. Additionally, the MPG 271QRX is equipped with extra USB ports and includes the Gaming Intelligence App, making it a more advanced option likely reflected in its price. While MSI has not yet disclosed pricing or availability, similarities to the Alienware AW2725DF point to it being a close competitor.

MSI MAG 321UPX and MPG 321URX Displays

A step up in size, the MAG 321UPX and MPG 321URX feature a 31.5-inch QD-OLED screen at UHD resolution, paired with a 240Hz refresh rate. They retain the impressive response time, brightness, color coverage, and certifications of their smaller siblings.

The differences between the MAG 321UPX and MPG 321URX mirror those found in the 271 series, with variations in USB functionality and additional software features. Using panels comparable to those in the Alienware AW3225QF and the HP Omen Transcend 32, MSI again holds back on releasing the pricing and the availability details.

MSI MAG 341CQP and MPG 491CQP Curved Monitors

For an enveloping gaming experience, the MAG 341CQP and the MPG 491CQP showcase an 1800R curvature. The MPG 491CQP, as the flagship model, presents a vast 49-inch QD-OLED panel at DQHD resolution, effectively replacing two 27-inch QHD displays side by side and featuring a 144Hz refresh rate. The MAG 341CQP, with a 34-inch UWQHD resolution screen, offers a higher 175Hz refresh rate.

Both curved monitors share similar brightness levels, adaptive sync capabilities, and earn the DisplayHDR True Black 400 stamp. The MPG 491CQP shares its panel with the likes of the Asus ROG Swift OLED PG49WCD and Gigabyte Aorus CO49DQ, whereas the MAG 341CQP is in line with screens used in the Alienware AW3423DW and Samsung OLED G85SB. Prices and availability for these top-tier monitors from MSI are expected to be revealed in the coming weeks.

As MSI continues to innovate and push the boundaries of gaming technology, the new lineup of QD-OLED gaming monitors is set to enhance gamers’ visual experiences. The exact launch dates and pricing are highly anticipated, positioning MSI as a formidable player in the gaming display market.
